Dr. Milissa Sackos, executive director of Student and Community Services, presented an evaluation and findings report on the District’s security assessment. GE Security has been working with Scottsdale Unified School District staff on a comprehensive security assessment of all campuses. The assessment involved conducting several reviews of the campuses which included staff interviews and surveys. A through evaluation has been performed, including a policy and procedure analysis, risk assessment, security surveys and vulnerability assessment. Sherry Celaya, director of Finance Services, reviewed and discussed with the Board the adaptation of the Credit Card Policy DGD – Credit Card at the recommendation of the District’s outside auditors. The adaption of this policy will provide a clear procedure and better control over the use of credit cards. The item will be brought back as a Consent Agenda item on the November 18th Board agenda. Dr. Ildi Laczko-Kerr, executive director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment, provided the Governing Board with an overview of student achievement, including success and opportunities for growth. The Board will receive information regarding the 2008-09 School Improvement Plan process, including Supai Middle School’s action plan for making AYP.
