BOARD BRIEFS |
Dr. David Peterson, assistant superintendent for Operations, provided the Governing Board an update of the revised budget projection including TEI, Classroom Site Fund and Insurance Proposals. Ernie Nicely, executive director of Information Technology, updated the Governing Board on revisions to the District’s Technology Plan. The presentation is available on the District’s Web site at: http://www.susd.org/district/govboard/meetings.cfm.
Jackie Olson, director of Curriculum, presented the Board with information regarding the World Language Adoption. The item will be brought back as a Consent Agenda item on the May 6th agenda. In other action, the Governing Board:
- Approved the naming of the new Baseball Complex at Coronado High School.
- Approved the Proclamation for National Teacher Appreciation Week May 4-8, 2008.
- Approved the Proclamation for National School Nurse Day, May 7, 2008.
- Approved the Proclamation for SUSD Support Staff Week April 20-26, 2008.
- Accepted gifts valued at $416,107. The gifts were received from Anasazi PTO, Arcadia PTO, Cochise APT, DCMS PTO, DMHS PTO, Mountainside PTO, Navajo PTO, Pima PTO, Pueblo PTO, Arcadia Basketball Boosters, Arcadia Dads, Arcadia parents, ACT, AZTEA Arizona, Casey at the Bat, C.H.A.P.T.S., City of Scottsdale, Jerry G. Coppinger, Scott Currier, DC Ranch Community Foundation, First Books, Honeywell, Scottsdale Charros, Dr. Mark Stieg, Target, Wal-Mart and Wells Fargo.
A Work/Study session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on May 6. The location is TBD. The next regular Governing Board meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. June 3 at the Education Center.
