Superintendent Dr. John M. Baracy presented to the Governing Board an accelerated timeline to bring options to them regarding facility usage based on discussions at the Board Meeting on January 8th. Jeff Thomas, executive director for Human Capital, presented to the Board key areas of focus from each employee group for this year’s Meet and Confer. Dr. Michael Helminski, president of Scottsdale Affiliated Administrators (SAA); Eric Kurland, president of the Scottsdale Education Association (SEA); and Dan Granger, president of the Scottsdale Support Personnel Association (SSPA); each presented on behalf of their constituents. Dr. Helminski’s presentation is available on the District’s Web site at: www.susd.org/district/govboard/meetings.cfm. Additionally, Mr. Thomas gave the Governing Board an update on Phased Retirement. The Board approved a Phased Retirement Program (RFP#7120) on November 14, 2006 and awarded the RFP to Smartschoolsplus. The implementation required a report back to the Board regarding the program’s efficiency and recommendations for future implementation of Phased Retirement.
