New classified employees will be assigned to a step on the pay range for their position based on previous related work experience according to the following scale: 0-1 year of experience - Step 1; 2-4 years of experience - Step 2; 5 or more years of experience - Step 3. Years of experience are based on full time equivalency percentage of an 8-hour day.
